UCSF Health Primary and Specialty Care, St. Mary's offers routine health care as well as specialty services for adults and children.

Our primary care services focus on preventive medicine, such as annual wellness exams and management of chronic issues, as well as care for colds, flu and other conditions. Our specialty services include family sports medicine, general and vascular surgery, and infectious disease care.

Our sports medicine doctors specialize in nonsurgical care for athletes of all ages, providing treatments and guidance to help patients recover from injury and safely return to the highest level of activity possible.

Our surgical services include:

  • Routine general surgery, including hernia repair, gallbladder and appendix removal, and treatment of bowel obstructions
  • Minimally invasive surgical techniques, such as laparoscopy (procedures to examine and treat issues inside the abdomen)
  • Endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on the colon (colonoscopy), esophagus and stomach
  • Operations to treat cancers in the breast, thyroid, lung, stomach, intestine, colon or rectum, adrenal glands and skin
  • Vascular surgery

Our infectious disease specialists treat a wide range of infections and immune-related diseases. They also provide consultations for complicated or unusual conditions, including:

  • Bone and joint infections
  • Hepatitis
  • Infections related to HIV (human immunodeficiency virus)
  • Meningitis
  • Preventive measures for foreign travel
  • Recurrent infections, severe infections and difficult-to-treat infections
  • Respiratory infections
  • Tuberculosis (TB)
  • Valley fever
